MEDITERRANEAN SHIPPING COMPANY S.A. of Geneva, Switzerland is pleased to announce the upgrade of their New Orient Service from the Far East to the Port of Long Beach, USA.
Commencing with the sailing of the MSC Michaela from Yantian on the 3rd of March 2006, MSC will provide a direct express weekly service deploying five vessels of 6,750 TEU on the following port rotation : - Yantian - Shanghai - Ningbo - Tokyo - Long Beach - Busan - Qingdao - Yantian
This upgrade of the New Orient Service will enable MSC to offer an excellent transit time from Central and Northern China with Shanghai to Long Beach taking 13 days, Ningbo to Long Beach taking 12 days and Tokyo to Long Beach only 9 days.
Between its existing Pearl River Service and now the upgrade of the New Orient Service, MSC has now consolidated its position as one of the premier carriers offering comprehensive port coverage, schedule integrity and excellent transit times on the Transpacific Trade to the USA West Coast.
