| Congestion Recovery Surcharge In South Africa | 18/05/2010 |
| The industrial action that was initiated by the unions on Monday 10th of May in all South African ports and railways has continued into its second week. This industrial action has had a significant and serious cost impact on shipping lines and the consequences are expected to continue for some time. We therefore have decided to implement, ex All Asian ports, a Congestion Recovery Surcharge of USD 100 per TEU. The surcharge will be applicable to all containers discharged in all South African ports; transshipment cargo is exempt from this surcharge. This charge is effective on 20th May 2010. The congestion recovery surcharge will be for the account of the freight payer. This Congestion recovery Surcharge will be applicable till further notice MSC Far East Trade |
