New Bill of Lading & Sea Waybill 12/03/2008

The terms and conditions of the Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill have been thoroughly reviewed and their layout has been refreshed while paying particular attention to security and transparency.

Noticeable innovations are:

  • For more transparency, the new Bill of Lading terms and conditions are now available on this website in a large and easily readable version, not only in English, but also in Spanish, Russian and Chinese, as advertised at the top of the new Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill.
  • Following customers’ requests for improved clarity, the layout has been redesigned, on the front with the boxes being reorganized in three sections and on the back with the terms and conditions arranged in three columns.
  • For enhanced security of commercial transactions and prevention of fraud, the new Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill will be printed on new, specially-commissionned security paper characterised by watermarks and other security features.

To help customers distinguish between the new and the preceding versions of the Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill, both can be viewed on this page. The different layout allows easy identification of the new and preceding versions.

The new Bill of Lading and Sea Waybill will be introduced progressively around the world, starting in April 2008. MSC’s customers are kindly requested to regularly visit this website to check for news of implementation at their local MSC Agency.

Additional information can be obtained from local MSC Agencies.
